Research Coordinator at the WHOLE Centre, Department of Women's and Children's Health
As part of a FORTE-funded interdisciplinary research center WHOLE: An Interdisciplinary Centre for Women’s Health Over the LifecoursE- at the intersection of reproductive transitions, mental health, and pain, we hereby announce a position for a research coordinator with a background in the humanities.
The position is suitable for you who want to contribute to a growing interdisciplinary research center focused on women's health, and who thrives in a role where academic competence is combined with project management, coordination, and strategic development work.
In WHOLE, internationally prominent academic research groups collaborate with the aim of establishing an interdisciplinary and sustainable research environment for women's health. Under the leadership of Uppsala University, in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet, groundbreaking research is conducted in line with Sweden's national investment in women's health and diseases. The focus is on conditions at the intersection of reproductive phases, mental health, and pain, such as endometriosis and postpartum depression – areas that are underexplored and often characterized by significant knowledge gaps. WHOLE brings together 17 disciplines from medicine, engineering, social sciences, and humanities, integrating biological, psychological, social, and cultural perspectives throughout a woman's life. Through innovative methods, including longitudinal studies, laboratory and AI-based analyses, and patient-centered research, new knowledge, diagnostic innovations, and more equitable care models are developed in close collaboration with patients, caregivers, and decision-makers.
The Department of Women's and Children's Health (KBH) is an international and multidisciplinary environment focused on health and welfare. The WHOLE Centre conducts research on women's health from a life cycle perspective, with a particular focus on mental health, pain, reproductive health, and social conditions. The work is led by Professor Alkistis Skalkidou and is conducted in close collaboration with clinical operations and other research environments.

- Support researchers in project management, scheduling, and structuring workflows.
- Participate in popular science activities and collaboration initiatives with the surrounding community.
- Contribute to internal and external communication, including work in TEAMS and other digital tools.
The work takes place in close dialogue with the center management, but you are also expected to work independently and take responsibility for driving processes forward.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A postdoctoral degree in a humanities subject.
