The Department of Energy and Technology conducts research and education focused on how agriculture can contribute to a sustainable society. We have extensive expertise in systems for sustainable production of food and bioenergy, including optimal nutrient cycles and logistics systems. In the methodological area, we have significant competence in systems analysis including environmental systems analysis and LCA, as well as in biometry (statistics and mathematics applied to biological systems). In our research related to sustainable food production, we conduct quantitative studies of the environmental impact of various foods and diets, modeling future scenarios for more sustainable eating habits, and developing materials for various informative and financial instruments for more sustainable diets.

Your Background

Requirements:

• PhD in a relevant field such as technology, biology, environmental science, food science, or sustainable development.
• Previous experience in life cycle analysis of food systems and publication in scientific journals.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish and English.

Meritorious:

• Skills in modeling in life cycle analysis tools, experience from life cycle analyses of feed, aquaculture, and national diets, as well as methodological knowledge about biodiversity or animal welfare within the life cycle analysis field.

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as teamwork skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently.

Since postdoctoral positions are merit-based career positions for junior researchers, we primarily seek candidates who have obtained their PhD within the last three years.
