Senior Analytical Chemist at Randstad Life Sciences in Uppsala

We are now looking for a Senior Analytical Chemist for assignments with our clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries in Uppsala.

About the role

As a senior consultant, you will play a key role in the laboratory work at our clients' sites. You are expected to work independently and act as an expert resource in analytical chemistry. The role often involves a combination of routine analyses and more advanced development work.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks include:

• Method development and validation: Develop new analytical methods and validate and verify existing methods according to ICH guidelines.
• Analytical work: Perform chemical analyses using techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, LC-MS, or similar.
• GMP work: Work strictly according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and ensure that documentation and raw data are handled correctly.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot instruments and methods and investigate deviations (OOS/OOT).
• Mentor: Support and guide junior colleagues in their daily work.
• Instrument responsibility: Maintenance and qualification of laboratory instruments.

Qualifications

Qualifications and requirements

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and can quickly adapt to new routines and tasks. To be considered for this position, you have the following background:

• Academic degree: You have a scientific university education (Master's or PhD) in analytical chemistry, chemistry, or pharmacy.
• Industrial experience: You have at least 5 years of work experience in laboratory work within the pharmaceutical industry or Life Science.
• Chromatography: You have excellent practical and theoretical knowledge of HPLC/UPLC and/or GC.
• GMP: You have several years of experience working in a GMP-regulated environment and are well acquainted with the regulations.
• Software: You have extensive experience with chromatography software (e.g., Empower or Chromeleon).
• Method validation: You have documented experience in method development and validation.
• Language: You express yourself fluently in both Swedish and English, as documentation is a central part of the work.

It is advantageous (but not required) if you have:

• Experience in mass spectrometry (MS).
• Experience in project management or coordination in the lab.
• Knowledge of wet chemical analytical methods.
