Research Project: Three-dimensional cell cultures, such as spheroids, organoids, and assembloids, are revolutionizing biomedical research by closely mimicking the natural architecture and function of tissues. A particular research focus for our group is to develop improved 3D models that incorporate various glial cell populations and to phenotypically characterize these in a neurological disease context.
Job Responsibilities: The tasks within this project involve working with groundbreaking iPSC-derived cell models, genetic engineering, as well as cellular and molecular analyses to design, implement, and analyze systems in neuro-oncological and neurodegenerative contexts.
In addition to research work, some involvement in communicating research results through scientific publications in well-established scientific journals is an important part of the position.
Qualifications: The position requires a master's degree in biological/chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a corresponding degree in a related field.
We require documented knowledge and experience of iPSC cultures, transdifferentiation, generation of brain organoids, and CRISPR technology. Furthermore, experience in microscopy and analytical techniques such as DNA and RNA isolation and analyses with qPCR and digital PCR, protein analyses with ELISA, and immunostaining (IHC, IF, ICC) is required.
Good ability to express oneself in spoken and written English is a requirement.
