Description

As an environmental inspector in Älvkarleby Municipality, you will work with supervision and environmental issues that contribute to a sustainable and safe living environment for the municipality's residents and businesses.

You will be responsible for the supervision and inspection of environmentally hazardous activities, work with regulatory enforcement according to applicable legislation, and provide advice and guidance to businesses and individuals on environmental issues.

Job Responsibilities

As an environmental inspector, you will primarily work with processing and supervision within the Environmental Code, focusing on environmentally hazardous activities. The role also includes responding to referrals and inquiries from the public and business operators.

We are a smaller department that handles a wide range of areas. Community and collaboration are at the forefront here, and there is always close interaction between competencies. For the job to suit you, it is important that you are flexible and can assist where needed within the entire scope of the Environmental Code. You will also work closely with planning and building permit officers and understand the value of collaboration between different areas.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• is a trained environmental and health protection inspector or has another university degree that the employer deems equivalent
• has good knowledge of the Environmental Code and associated legislation
• has several years of experience in the profession
• holds a valid driver's license (B)
• has good computer skills

It is an advantage if you are familiar with the case management system EDP Vision.

You are a good listener who contributes to dialogue and understands the importance of good collaboration and communication.
