Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology (IMBIM)

Project Description

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to support ongoing research projects involving human tissue samples as well as molecular and image-based analyses.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include handling and processing of tissue samples, immunofluorescence staining, microscopy-related work, PCR and qPCR, image analysis including cell segmentation and quantification, and general laboratory work, maintenance, and documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant life science field. A master's degree is considered an asset. Applicants should meet all or some of the following requirements:

• Image analysis with QuPath and/or Fiji/ImageJ
• Knowledge and skills in bioinformatics
• Immunofluorescence (IF)
• PCR and qPCR
• Experience working with tissue samples (e.g., FFPE or frozen sections)
• Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability such as accuracy, structured and reliable individuals who can work both independently and in a team. Good communication skills and attention to detail are important.

About the Position

Temporary position until 2027-01-31. Full-time. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
