Department of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology
A temporary position as a postdoctoral researcher is announced within the research group for the epidemiology of plant diseases at the Department of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). We are looking for a motivated candidate who will study how different agricultural practices affect soil health and how soil health can be best characterized.
Project Description
The position is part of the EU project MultiSoil (https://www.multisoil.eu/ (https://www.multisoil.eu/)) which will provide a broad network and expertise to support your research. The project offers a unique opportunity to explore fundamental questions about soil health in agricultural systems and advance your research career in a leading international research environment. As a postdoctoral researcher in the project, you will develop and conduct analyses of published data or existing data collections in collaboration with experts from other European countries.
Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with a PhD in soil ecology, mycology, microbiology, molecular ecology, or a related field. The candidate is expected to have prior experience with statistical tools and methods for analyzing published research data, such as meta-analyses or systematic literature reviews, as well as excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. It is considered an advantage if the candidate has programming knowledge (e.g., with Python or R) and a good understanding of agricultural cultivation and ecosystems.
In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on candidates' interest in soil health and agricultural systems, as well as personal qualities, collaboration skills, attention to detail, and independence.
A postdoctoral position is intended for a researcher early in their career, so we primarily seek individuals who have obtained their PhD within the last three years.
