Inspector in Cybersecurity

At the Medical Products Agency, we make a difference together. In life and for life. We work for the health of people and animals, for a better Sweden today and in the future. Are you experienced in the field of cybersecurity with a genuine interest in supervisory work? Welcome to make a difference with us!

Our Operations

The Inspection Unit for Industry and Healthcare is responsible for the supervision of clinical trials, manufacturing, distribution, and systems for safety monitoring of medicines. The supervision covers actors in industry and healthcare and is conducted through field inspections both nationally and internationally. We are involved in the formulation of regulations and guidelines within each area. Currently, 43 employees work in the unit divided into five groups: inspection GMP/GDP 1 and 2, inspection GVP/GCP, inspection healthcare-related manufacturing, and the inspection office.

Due to the NIS2 directive and the cybersecurity law, where the Medical Products Agency is designated as the supervisory authority for the health and healthcare sectors as well as operators in the pharmaceutical sector, we are looking for an inspector in cybersecurity for the inspection office.

Your Responsibilities

You will be part of a team to build and develop supervision in cybersecurity. Supervision of operators in the pharmaceutical sector - manufacturing, research, and development - is an important part of the work. You will perform both proactive and reactive supervision regarding cybersecurity at pharmaceutical manufacturers, including requesting and reviewing documentation regarding various actors' IT environments, process environments, cyber-physical systems, and management systems. This also includes on-site inspections at pharmaceutical manufacturers and other actors, which involves some travel. The work places high demands on the ability to make well-founded risk assessments and to formulate conclusions from a regulatory perspective.

Your Background

You have several years of experience in information and IT security work and enjoy planning and conducting structured reviews, where you collect, document, and evaluate material in a methodical way. You can make independent, well-founded, and proportionate assessments based on both requirements and risk profiles. Your technical understanding includes cybersecurity, network architectures, identity and access management, cryptography, and communication. You also have experience in conducting risk analyses and assessing cybersecurity measures. You can explain complex cybersecurity issues to both technical and non-technical target groups, and you express yourself fluently in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have experience in independently conducting audits or reviews according to established frameworks, such as the ISO/IEC 27000 series, CIS, SOC2, PCI DSS, DORA, IEC 62443, the Security Protection Act, or NIST CSF. It is also beneficial if you have worked with supervision, auditing, or other controlling activities in the public or private sector, or have operational experience in implementing and managing security measures in complex technical environments. Experience in incident management, continuity planning, and recovery capability is advantageous, as well as experience in implementation according to ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or PCI DSS.

Knowledge of GxP regulations, experience in pharmaceuticals, or in vitro diagnostics is valuable. It is advantageous if you are familiar with the cybersecurity law's requirements for security measures or have experience from critical societal operations or other regulated sectors. Certifications such as 27001 Lead Auditor, QSA, CISA, or similar are also considered advantageous.

Your Personal Qualities

You have high integrity and good analytical skills. The work requires good communication and collaboration skills as well as a structured approach from planning, implementation to reporting of inspections. You need to be able to review and evaluate information from various systems, prioritize, and make independent decisions, even under time pressure. You have a curious attitude and are open to taking in new information. You are clear in your communication, both internally and externally, and you value a good reception.

We place great importance on personal qualities.
