Environmental Protection Unit
We are a knowledgeable team that works together on important societal issues with a focus on environmental protection.
We work, among other things, with the assessment and supervision of environmentally hazardous activities and supervision according to the Seveso legislation. We also supervise contaminated areas and oversee the law on public water services (LAV) as well as grant-funded work with contaminated sites. We are responsible for providing supervisory guidance to municipalities by offering advice and support, as well as following up and evaluating supervision in the county. We participate in cross-sectoral work at the agency and monitor environmental and health protection issues in internal memos, primarily in planning-related matters such as detailed plans, comprehensive plans, and concession matters. On behalf of the government, we prepare cases regarding offshore wind power.

Job Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who wants to work with the assessment of environmentally hazardous activities within the Environmental Assessment Delegation (MPD), but other tasks within the unit may also become relevant. The tasks include reviewing application documents, assessing the need for supplements, and writing orders and permits.
Qualifications
You have relevant scientific or technical education at the university level. We want you to have experience working with environmentally hazardous activities.
For the position, it is advantageous if you meet one or more of the following requirements:
- experience in supervising permitted environmentally hazardous activities
- experience in assessing permitted environmentally hazardous activities
- experience in preparing documentation for applications regarding permitted environmentally hazardous activities
The tasks are often complex and require good analytical skills. The position requires you to independently plan and carry out your work effectively and results-oriented. You are meticulous and work systematically with documentation and follow-up. The positions involve many contacts both internally and externally, which requires good collaboration and communication skills. Being able to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish is a prerequisite. The position also requires a B driver's license. You represent the County Administrative Board in a trustworthy manner. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Conditions
The positions are temporary (special fixed-term employment) starting from 2026-07-01 or by agreement until June 2027. Your job title at the agency will be case officer.
