The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Långanäs receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse.
Job Description
Do you want to help create the vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. SiS Youth Home Långanäs is now looking for three individuals for six-month temporary positions as treatment assistants, with a possibility of extension.
The goal of your role is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and security of our youth and are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building trusting relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth receive the safety and security they need to break ingrained behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job can often be demanding but is also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo a local introduction for three full days during the first days of your employment, followed by shadowing in the department.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the capacity to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
- At least a two-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- Driver's license (B)
- Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Correctional Officer
- Security guard training
- Education in health and care
- Experience working with youth

*Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The position is a fixed-term employment for six months, with a chance for extension. Start date to be agreed upon.
