A summer job at a group home is for you who enjoy working with people and want to make a positive difference.

The work involves supporting, developing, and activating individuals who need our assistance in their daily lives. Group Housing Bergiusvägen is located in a cozy residential area in Vättersnäs, close to the city bus. At the residence, we provide support to five citizens of adult age with various disabilities.

Job Responsibilities

As a summer substitute with us, you will have a varied and social job where you become an important link in the daily life of the person you support. You will work with one person, providing support in the areas of life that the individual finds difficult to manage independently. The goal is for each person to have a rich and meaningful everyday life. In personal assistance, you perform the work in the individual's home, often alone. You always focus on the individual's needs and help the person use and develop their own abilities. Examples of tasks included:

  • Assistance with personal care – such as dressing and undressing
  • Assistance with personal hygiene – such as showering and toilet visits
  • Service tasks – such as laundry, cleaning, and shopping
  • Social activities – such as walks and outings

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in people and a positive attitude. You can work independently but also enjoy collaborating with others. Furthermore, we appreciate if you are responsible, attentive, and can take your own initiatives. Personal suitability is the most important for us!

It is an advantage if you have training as a nursing assistant or have completed a child and youth program, or have other relevant education with a pedagogical or social focus, but this is not a requirement. Previous experience in care and support is meritorious, and a B driver's license for manual transmission is desirable.

This position requires you to be fluent in Swedish sign language, as the operation is entirely sign language-based. You also need to be able to read and write in Swedish, as you will communicate with citizens, relatives, and colleagues, as well as write notes.

You must be at least 18 years old to work in our operations.

Good to Know

We are looking for summer substitutes for the holiday period between weeks 25 and 34; when applying, please indicate which weeks you can work. As a summer substitute, you can work full-time or by agreement, and the working hours with us are during the day, evening, and sleeping on-call, both weekdays and weekends. We would like you to be able to work at least six consecutive weeks during the summer.

If you do a good job, you have the chance for continued work in the fall, perfect for you who are studying!
