Region West consists of five police areas and three regional units. In the Skaraborg police area, there are two local police areas, Eastern and Western, with Skövde and Lidköping as the main towns, in addition to the investigation section that covers the entire police area, as well as a police area office. The investigation section has eight groups, of which two are operational support groups with a range of different specialist functions, including financial investigators.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will be responsible for the financial part of investigations, which means you will collect, process, analyze, and visualize financial information. The investigative work usually takes place in project/operation form, which places high demands on both individual work and collaboration with other competencies in the group, as well as with external partners.

As a specialist, you are expected to contribute to the development of working methods and processes, you are also a sounding board and advisor, and contribute to the competence development within financial investigation among other employees. You are expected to assist in interrogations and searches as well as in court proceedings.

Main tasks can be summarized as follows:

• collecting, processing, analyzing, and presenting financial information regarding individuals and companies
• tracing and securing assets for confiscation purposes
• finding evidence and economic motives for crimes
• creating financial investigations ranging from simple to in-depth investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

• a relevant post-secondary education for the position, for example in economics, law, criminology, or alternatively trained police in accordance with the Police Ordinance (2014:1104).
• Driver's license B, manual transmission
• very good knowledge of Excel
• very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in English
• work experience from a role in auditing, taxation, controlling, or another economic orientation in the last five years that the employer assesses as relevant.
• work experience in collecting, processing, and analyzing complex information and presenting the results verbally and in writing

It is advantageous if you also have:

• experience in investigating and/or knowledge of cryptocurrencies
• experience in criminal investigations or case management, preferably from public operations
• experience in investigating economically motivated crimes
• experience in inter-agency work against organized crime

Personal qualities

For the position, we are looking for someone with a very good analytical ability, as well as a developed sense of structure and methodology. You are self-driven and can delineate and prioritize within a given assignment, as well as have the ability to drive your work forward. The position involves a lot of collaboration both internally and externally, which places high demands on your service ability, social competence, and flexibility. You are expected to present your work in different contexts and need to be comfortable speaking in front of others, being concrete and clear.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
