Assignment Description

A government agency is looking for a Technical Tester for a delivery area within information and support services. The delivery area is of critical operational and technical nature with many internal and external integrations. The solutions are used to provide information to both internal operational systems and external actors' systems. The current assignment is within critical societal operations.

The delivery area is responsible for further developing services that manage general government information with multiple consumers and making external data sources available internally to streamline and minimize duplicated functionality. The service components are consumed by several operational systems and have many integrations and system dependencies. The solutions essentially have no user interfaces, which means it is important to understand the technical architecture and how the systems interact, both frontend and backend. The work is conducted according to agile methods.

To succeed in the assignment, you need to have good collaboration skills, drive, and initiative. You should be able to independently find out what is required to perform your work. You should be meticulous, analytical, structured, and have a holistic perspective while being solution-oriented.

Job Responsibilities

As a Technical Tester, your primary tasks will include:

• Testing functionality both with and without user interfaces
• Developing automated tests
• Creating test scenarios (negative and positive tests according to TDD)
• Ensuring both functional and non-functional requirements
• Conducting manual tests

You are also expected to:

• Conduct technically demanding manual testing activities and prepare test data
• Design and develop automated integration tests in JUnit
• Maintain and further develop the test framework in a Java environment
• Prepare and adapt technical test environments for manual and automated tests
• Participate in reviewing and refining requirements and ensure test coverage and requirement traceability
• Communicate with internal and external parties regarding test data and test environments

Mandatory Requirements

At least 3 years of work experience in:

• Technical testing and test automation in Java-based backend systems (Unix/Linux platform)
• Code-level testing and working with test frameworks (e.g., JUnit)
• CI/CD and container-based environments
• Testing in integration-intensive systems with APIs, message brokers (JMS, XML/XSD, JSON), and databases (SQL)

At least 1 year of work experience in:

• Testing in systems based on Spring Framework/Spring Boot

Desirable Requirements

• OpenShift
• Testing of REST APIs
• Jenkins
• Certification in testing
