Teaching Technician at the University of Borås

Are you interested in working in a laboratory environment and supporting students' learning? The Department of Engineering Science is looking for a teaching technician.

Your Responsibilities
As a teaching technician, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment in a laboratory environment for IT and automation. The role also includes teaching courses, up to about 40%, where you introduce and manage technical equipment and provide some laboratory guidance to students. In addition, you will participate in safety and environmental work and conduct necessary risk assessments. You will also handle administrative tasks, such as ordering materials and other ongoing management. The work involves daily and close contact with students, course leaders, and colleagues in IT and mechanical engineering. Teaching and guidance will be conducted in both Swedish and English.
Your Qualifications
For this position, you need to have a high school diploma in technology and be approved in the courses CCNA 1 – ITN, CCNA 2 – SRWE, and CCNA 3 – ENSA. You have a good ability to communicate in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. You have practical experience in handling and configuring mechatronic systems, such as working with Arduino, Raspberry PI, and other embedded components. The role also requires practical knowledge in network technology and operating systems, as well as good knowledge in IT, network technology, and cybersecurity. Additionally, you have experience in supporting teaching and research activities in a laboratory environment.
We place great importance on personal suitability, and to function in the role, you need to have good collaboration and communication skills and have demonstrated a good ability to instruct users of the equipment used in the laboratory environment. You also have proven ability to work independently, be structured, meticulous, and able to prioritize and complete your tasks responsibly.
Your Employment
Permanent full-time employment. A six-month probationary period may apply.
