JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technology, Leisure, and Culture Administration is looking for a landscape architect who has a great interest in developing Ronneby's urban environments and countryside. In the role of landscape architect, you will propose, plan, and create conditions for the implementation of investments and operations in the public environment. You will assist with expert knowledge in projects, investigations, and in the preparation of decision-making materials. The goal of the assignment is for all places in Ronneby to be perceived as accessible, pleasant, and safe at all hours of the day and year-round. Part of the work consists of communication and interaction with politics and citizens.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • Participate in driving investment projects in the planning phase.
  • You are expected to lead a working group with other competencies to propose transformations of public spaces that represent the best-balanced solution for the municipality as a whole. This can include central squares and parks as well as streets, but also in rural areas.
  • Develop sketches and visualizations.
  • Write object descriptions and texts that explain the purpose and main function of individual investments. Propose and argue for new investments in public spaces, both verbally and in writing.
  • Participate in physical planning and particularly consider issues related to public spaces, based on, among other things, the importance of meeting places, climate adaptation, greenery, well-designed living environments, and the importance of cost-effective operations.
  • Assist project managers in the implementation of investment projects related to public spaces.
  • Be able to lead or participate in the development of strategies for how Ronneby's public spaces should be developed.
  • Engage in consultations and dialogue with the public, businesses, and others affected by investments in public spaces or physical planning.
  • Contribute to operational planning and work plans within the administration and department.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and feedback of projects and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have experience in urban planning issues and the planning process. We also want you to have experience in site analyses and design issues at both the object level and from an urban space perspective.

You have good knowledge of urban ecosystem services and how green structures interact with the city's needs. We see that you have experience working with various sustainability aspects, both ecological and social and economic, to develop solutions that work for the city's needs, both now and in the future. Experience in designing creative play environments for children is a plus. It is valuable if you have expertise and experience in stormwater management in green areas.

Since you will be working with both design and planning, you need to be able to produce simpler documents in CAD.

You have a very good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as you will write decision-making materials and proposals for management within both politics and operations. You find it easy to communicate and collaborate with others, and you see dialogue with citizens and colleagues as an important part of the work. As a person, you are curious, proactive, and have a problem-solving analytical ability. You enjoy thinking outside the box, sharing knowledge, and working towards a common direction. You thrive in the role of representing green and sustainable solutions over time.

You should have an academic degree in landscape architecture or another education that the employer deems equivalent/relevant, and you should have at least a couple of years of experience in the field. Experience in project management and proficiency in common digital drawing and layout programs are required. Knowledge of GIS usage is a prerequisite.
