About the department

As a coordinator for technical information requirements, ILS coordinator, you are part of the Project Support Detail within the Navy's Materiel Office in the Naval Staff. The Navy's Materiel Office supports responsible managers in creating conditions for the material to be available, system-worthy, and safe.

Main responsibilities

As an ILS coordinator, you will be involved in our material projects from the very beginning. You primarily support our technical system leaders by engaging and coordinating the specialists needed for requirements specification and review of conditions for effective operation and maintenance of the material throughout its lifecycle. Our projects are conducted in close collaboration with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), and your role will be to create and maintain the Navy's internal working groups, other stakeholders within the Armed Forces, and to collaborate and maintain close contact with the project team and ILS responsible within FMV. The ILS work is based on the established routines and processes of the Armed Forces, which are then translated into practical work. The requirements specification includes, among other things, spare parts management, basic and maintenance data, systems security, logistics, technical documentation, and training.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• University education in logistics, quality, communication, information technology, engineering, or other post-secondary education deemed equivalent by the Armed Forces
• Experience in coordinating, planning, structuring, and following up project activities
• Experience in administrative work
• Good knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Driving license B

Personal qualities

To thrive in this role, you need to be relationship-building, responsive, and accustomed to taking your own initiatives. To enjoy the role of ILS coordinator, you should have a technical interest, preferably in the marine area, a good analytical ability, and be quality-conscious. In your work, you will have many points of contact both within the authority and with other authorities and the civil industry, which means you need to be able to collaborate, cooperate, and communicate easily with others. Much collaboration occurs in meeting form, either through physical meetings or via Skype. The Naval Staff offers training that provides you with deeper knowledge in the ILS area. Therefore, you need to be development-oriented and want to stay updated in your area of responsibility.

DESIRABLE

• Experience in maintenance/sustainment of technical systems
• Education in Logistics Engineering & Management (ILS) or Integrated Product Support (IPS)
• Experience working with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and/or maintenance preparation
• Basic knowledge of ISO 15288 – Systems and Software Engineering
• Experience in project work within the FM or FMV
• Experience and knowledge of the Armed Forces' processes, routines, and organization
• Experience and knowledge of the Armed Forces' material supply process
• Completed training in Development and Procurement of Military Systems (DAMS 1)

Other

Employment type: permanent. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.
Employment rate: Full-time.
Work location: Karlskrona, the position includes business trips, mainly within Sweden.
