At Språkskolan in Upplands Väsby, students learn early that differences enrich and that all people have equal value. The intercultural character of the school, where many languages and nationalities meet, creates a positive sense of community among both students and staff.
The school is centrally located in Smedby and is easily accessible with good transportation links. The school is nestled in beautiful nature with walking paths and no disturbing traffic. It is a well-established independent school run by the Språkskolan Foundation in Upplands Väsby. Under the school's roof, you will find the English School, Sverigefinska School, both with associated after-school care, and Språkskolan's Preschool.
Job Description
You will work in after-school care and as a resource at the English School. You and your colleagues provide students with a meaningful leisure time based on the curriculum and the students' needs, interests, and experiences. You work purposefully and recognize all students and their needs. You collaborate with the teacher in the classroom and with others in the work team, as well as with school management, the counselor, and the social pedagogue. Together with the work team, you will lead the continued development of after-school activities. In your teaching, you will promote students' imagination, empathy, and ability to learn together with others through play, movement, and creative expression, as well as exploratory and practical methods. You will support students during transitions between lessons, breaks, and meals, as well as the transition from school to after-school care. You will also support students on an individual and/or group level based on identified needs in dialogue with the responsible teacher. The role includes conducting scheduled lessons in the absence of teachers.
You have a relational approach and find it easy to build relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher for after-school care or a leisure educator.
Other
We are looking for someone who is structured, has strong leadership skills, and sees the potential in all students.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
The position is 100% with a start in August 2026 or by agreement. It is a fixed-term employment, vacation position. We apply a 6-month probationary period.
