Mother Tongue Teacher at the Education Administration in Järfälla Municipality

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a mother tongue teacher, you support students in their language development using their mother tongue and act as a cultural and linguistic bridge. You conduct high-quality teaching and have an inclusive approach.

You will work with students of various ages. The position is located across several school units.

The role includes:

• planning mother tongue instruction based on the curriculum for the subject of mother tongue
• planning your teaching in collaboration with subject teachers, mentors, and other educational staff to meet the individual needs of students
• using digital tools for both student learning and planning and documentation of teaching
• being responsible for assessment and grading
• reporting attendance
• being the face of Järfälla Language Center

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• has the relevant language as their mother tongue
• has excellent knowledge of Swedish and their mother tongue in both spoken and written form
• has good knowledge of Swedish culture and the Swedish school system
• is familiar with the Swedish school's curriculum and governing documents
• has a teaching degree or equivalent pedagogical education and experience
• has experience in mother tongue instruction
• is comfortable engaging with students individually and in groups and creating good relationships
• has good computer skills
• has great flexibility and a solution-focused approach as rapid changes may occur in the assignment based on the needs of the schools
• is used to taking significant personal responsibility and can work independently

As a mother tongue teacher, you will encounter a large number of staff you need to collaborate with, both mother tongue colleagues and subject teachers in the schools. The ability to collaborate with all your colleagues and other staff is a prerequisite for working with us.

Great importance is therefore placed on personal suitability, which means that in addition to formal qualifications, we also highly value the ability to interact and collaborate as well as being a solution-oriented team player.

Permanent employment may be relevant for a certified teacher. Experience in teaching is required.
