Viksjöskolan is a municipal 7-9 school with about 670 students. Our school has good resources such as special educators, social educators, school psychologists, counselors, school nurses, study and career counselors, and IT technicians. All students have access to their own Chromebook.

As a new employee at Viksjöskolan, you will receive a mentor during your first academic year. You will also have many colleagues who collaborate and challenge each other.

Viksjöskolan has its own kitchen that prepares meals appreciated by both students and staff, and we serve three dishes daily along with plenty of vegetables of various kinds, and often freshly baked bread.

JOB DESCRIPTION

One of our teachers in the special education group will be on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a substitute.

You will be part of our special education team that provides support to students who need special assistance in a smaller context, as well as to students who need instruction in Swedish as a second language. We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in young people's learning. In your work, you will work directly with students who need extra support, but also maintain close contact with their guardians and collaborate with the students' regular teachers.

You will also participate in the work with educational investigations and action programs for the students you work with, as well as attend meetings with external contacts at e.g. SIP meetings.

Together with the other members of the special education team, you will coordinate support for students in need of special assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have an easy time communicating and collaborating with, and building trust with, both students, guardians, and educators. You also have experience with various assessments, investigations, adjustments, and special support. Since the role involves some documentation, you need to be familiar with this and have very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. You also need to be skilled in organizing and structuring work. We would like you to have experience working with students with problematic school absenteeism.

To complement our team that also supports newly arrived students, we would like you to have a teaching degree in English and Swedish and/or Swedish as a second language.
