The Employment and Adult Education Administration is responsible for the municipality's labor market measures, daily activities, adult education, and issues related to higher education, such as vocational training and other post-secondary education. Our goal is to provide the residents of Botkyrka with good opportunities to engage in studies, work, and employment. We are 330 employees working to enable more citizens to achieve self-sufficiency.

Campus Botkyrka (Adult Education and Xenter with YH programs) is one of three operational areas within the Employment and Adult Education Administration (Avux).

The others are Labor Market and Employment and Daily Activities under LSS. Campus Botkyrka operates in a municipal framework providing education in Swedish for immigrants (SFI), basic adult education, and special education for adults. Upper secondary adult education is procured through authorization.

The Position and Responsibilities

We are looking for a qualified study and career counselor for the Guidance Unit Botkyrka Adult Education.

As a study and career counselor, you will be part of a collective guidance for all adult citizens in Botkyrka municipality. The Guidance Unit currently consists of 6 study and career counselors. The work may also include admissions to adult education, contacts with authorities and other organizations, as well as other tasks typically associated with study and career counselors. The role involves extensive contact with students, teachers, other staff, and external actors, which requires versatility and social skills.

Adult education is undergoing changes, and you will also be expected to be proactive and involved in developing the operations.

Who You Are

You are a qualified and certified study and career counselor with several years of professional experience.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in adult education.
• Good knowledge of the Office suite.
• Experience working with administrative systems like Alvis.

As a study and career counselor, you are positive, responsible, and resilient under stress, with excellent collaboration skills and a strong ability to plan and organize your work. It is important that you can work in a structured and independent manner, understanding various issues and being attentive to what the assignment requires, thus being involved in developing the operations. You have a genuine interest in meeting people and are keen to develop guidance together with your colleagues.
