Research Officer at the Swedish Energy Agency
Do you want to help shape the future of sustainable and resource-efficient buildings? We are now looking for a research officer who wants to contribute to the development of the next generation of energy systems, where buildings not only consume energy but also convert, store, and share it. With us, you will turn research into real societal benefits and contribute to solutions that make a real difference. Apply for the position today and become part of our journey towards a smarter and more sustainable energy system!
About the Swedish Energy Agency
The Swedish Energy Agency works for a fossil-free and robust energy supply. Security of supply, competitiveness, and ecological sustainability are perspectives that must be combined to secure the energy systems of the future.
Your Responsibilities
Support research initiatives and drive new knowledge forward in the transition to a sustainable energy system. Buildings today play an increasingly important role in the energy system, not only as energy consumers but as active resources for supply, storage, and sharing of energy. As a research officer, your focus will be on funding research aimed at strengthening knowledge and competence about the significance of buildings in the transition.
Research Initiatives
The research initiatives combine technical, natural science, social science, and behavioral science perspectives. The focus is on the development of resource-efficient energy use throughout the lifecycle of buildings and the challenges that arise, which need to include societal actors and structures. Complex interactions between regulatory instruments, planning issues, and actors' behaviors and habits are central components.
Some Common Tasks:
- Prepare materials for calls for proposals.
- Process applications.
- Maintain contact with project leaders and follow up on research projects in our project portfolio.
- Conduct environmental monitoring and contribute to reports and analyses.
- Participate in the work of developing our long-term research and innovation strategies.
There is a fair amount of administration involved, but also the need to drive and organize meetings, seminars, and conferences. Collaborating with other authorities, international organizations, and building networks with companies, industry organizations, academia, and institutes is a natural part of the job. Travel may occur, both nationally and internationally.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A relevant academic degree in areas such as energy systems, energy technology, installation technology, building technology, or other education in a technical field that we consider equivalent.
- Work experience in a relevant field.
- Good knowledge of the role of buildings in the energy system and energy efficiency in existing buildings.
- Strong ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
- Good skills in IT and data programs.
It is an advantage if you have experience in research, investigation, or practice related to society's transition to a sustainable energy system.
We place great importance on personal qualities. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to work independently but also collaborate with others. You are good at cooperating and building good relationships, as well as structuring, planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively. You are proactive and curious about new perspectives and have an easy time analyzing and weighing complex information. We look forward to meeting you, who wants to contribute with commitment, drive, and a genuine interest in energy transition!
