Paramedic to Ambulance Services

The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. About 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Description

The Kungälv ambulance service consists of four ambulance stations: Ale, Kungälv, Stenungsund, and Tjörn, as well as a unit for non-emergency patient transport. There are 53 permanent employees within the ambulance service.

The Alingsås ambulance service consists of two ambulance stations: Alingsås and Lerum. About 45 permanent employees work within the ambulance service.

Responsibilities

As a paramedic in the ambulance, you play an active role in planning, executing, and being responsible for the tasks within ambulance healthcare based on the Health and Medical Services Act, the Patient Safety Act, and directives from the ambulance chief physician. The paramedic in the ambulance should, from an ethical standpoint, contribute to good interactions, quality patient care, and a positive work environment.

Introduction training starts on 26-05-01.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse; pre-hospital further education is highly meritorious. A driver's license with at least B category is required, and it is highly meritorious if you have C/C1 category since we will only have ambulances requiring heavier licenses in the future.

Emergency driver training is highly meritorious, as well as good local knowledge of the geographical areas in the ambulance districts. You should have good physical ability as we conduct physical tests. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability, where flexibility and the ability to work independently are important aspects.

The recruitment process includes checks with IVO, the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Swedish Transport Agency, and extracts from the suspicion and criminal records.

Testing days for Kungälv are 26-01-21 and 26-02-18. Testing days for Alingsås are 26-02-05 and 26-02-20.

Employment Type

This is a fixed-term employment until 2026-08-31 with the possibility of extension.

Work Location
