HR Generalist at the Department of Ecology and Genetics
The Department of Ecology and Genetics is an international and dynamic environment with over 110 employees.
Here, research and teaching are conducted at the intersection of ecology, evolution, and genomics.
The department's administration works closely with the operations and consists of an administrative manager, three economists, and two HR generalists. We are now looking for an HR generalist for a fixed-term position until September 30, 2026.
With us, you will have a broad and independent role where you contribute with qualified HR support.
Responsibilities
As an HR generalist, you will work closely with the operations and provide advice and support to managers and employees across the entire HR area. The work is varied and involves both operational and coordinating tasks.
Examples of tasks:
- Drive and administer recruitment processes
- Be responsible for the onboarding of new employees
- Provide support in rehabilitation cases
- Advice on labor law issues
- Support in workplace environment work
- Handle the termination of employment
- Ensure compliance with laws, agreements, and internal guidelines
- Ongoing HR administration within the framework of the department's mission
You will work both independently and in close collaboration with others in the department's administration.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- University or college education in human resources or equivalent competence that the employer assesses as equivalent
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Good ability to work both independently and in a team
- Good knowledge of MS Office
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. To thrive and succeed in the role, you are structured, meticulous, and self-assured. You have good communication skills and build trust when interacting with different professional groups.
Meritorious
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in qualified HR work, preferably within higher education
- Experience with personnel administrative systems such as Primula and Varbi or other systems used at Uppsala University
