Maria Park School is Helsingborg City’s largest primary school, located in northern Helsingborg. Approximately 1000 students attend the school, of which about 400 participate in after-school activities. The school is beautifully situated in Maria Park and in a newly built area in Mariastaden. The area offers proximity to Pålsjöskog, the beach, the sea, and the city's pulse. Our operations encompass grades F-9, after-school care, and adapted primary school.

Job Responsibilities
As a special education teacher with us, you will play a central role in the school's student health work and in developing an accessible learning environment. Your mission involves both supporting students in need of special support and contributing to the school’s long-term quality work through guidance and consultation.
In the role of special education teacher, you will work consultatively and coachingly with the school’s teachers and student health team to promote good teaching for all students. In some cases, you will also take on a more traditional special teacher role, where you work directly with students in various learning situations, tailored to their needs.
An important part of your work is to conduct educational investigations, establish action plans, and ensure clear and structured follow-up in collaboration with both guardians, students, and staff. This is a central part of ensuring that each student receives the right support based on their needs.
You will have an active role in guiding and supporting staff in matters related to students' development, adaptations, and special support. Your work is based on a preventive and promoting perspective where you contribute your special education expertise in both daily work and at the organizational level.
You are also an important part of the school’s systematic quality work, where you participate in planning, implementing, and analyzing interventions. Leading development processes together with lead teachers and school management is a central part of the assignment, and in this work, you are also expected to support and guide lead teachers in their work related to the systematic quality work.

Qualifications
A certified teacher with a completed degree as a special education teacher is a prerequisite for the position. Experience in special education work and working at the middle school level is meritorious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

- Has good collaboration skills and can create trusting relationships with students, staff, and guardians.
- Has experience in special education work at the middle school level and a clear student focus.
- Is accustomed to working systematically with planning, follow-up, and analysis related to student health and development initiatives.
- Has the ability to see the big picture and contribute to the school’s long-term development.
The position requires a solution-focused approach, good communication skills, and a genuine commitment to creating the best conditions for students' development and learning.
