Your New Job

We are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building career and guidance counselor for our school. The position is 50% with the possibility of being flexibly shaped based on your skills and our needs. The remaining part of the position up to full-time can either be allocated to our Resource Center (RC) where you work closely with students in need of extra support or combined with teaching for those who have a teaching certificate in a subject for grades 7-9 that the school needs. Together we will find a solution.

As a career and guidance counselor at Attarpsskolan 7-9, you will guide students in making well-founded choices for future studies and careers. You always have the pedagogical mission in focus to ensure that students have the conditions to achieve the goals of education. Career and guidance counseling is a shared responsibility that runs like a common thread throughout the entire school journey, and together with others at the school, you are responsible for creating conditions for integrating career and guidance counseling into teaching. In your professional role, you meet students in individual counseling sessions but also work with teaching and information for groups and classes on education and career-related issues.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree in career and guidance counseling. Perhaps you also have a teaching certificate in a subject for grades 7-9. Experience working in schools and/or with children and youth is seen as an advantage.

You have a genuine interest in meeting children and youth and are a secure and clear person in your professional role. It is essential that you have a good ability to see each child's individual needs. You are good at inspiring and creating engagement both among your colleagues and students. Participation, diversity, and community are important words for you.

The work requires a structured approach and good communication skills in both spoken and written form, as documentation, counseling conversations, and collaboration with students, guardians, and colleagues constitute a large part of the assignment. Good IT skills are also a requirement.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
