Special Education Teacher at Withalaskolan

Do you want to help create the best possible conditions for our students to succeed? We are now looking for a special education teacher at Withalaskolan – a middle school where development, collaboration, and student focus are at the center.

Withalaskolan is located in the heart of Vetlanda and has approximately 700 students divided into 31 classes. Around 85 staff members work together to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive school environment. The school is led by two principals and an assistant principal who share responsibility for students and staff. The student health team includes school nurses, counselors, social educators, study and career counselors, and special education teachers. The school also has a close collaboration with the central student health services, which offers specialist competence in areas such as psychology and special education.

As a special education teacher, you primarily work preventively and proactively by being present in the classroom. You collaborate with educators and teams to create a learning environment where all students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities include:

• conducting educational assessments and writing action plans
• supporting teachers in development discussions and in the work with additional adaptations
• acting as a qualified conversation partner and advisor in matters related to interaction, learning environment, and method development
• contributing to the development of student health and the school's systematic quality work

Qualifications

• You have a degree in special education and experience working in grades 7–9 of primary school.
• Professional experience as a special education teacher is an advantage.
• We place great importance on personal qualities.
