IT Technician with a Focus on IT Security

We are now looking for an IT technician with a focus on IT security for the IT technology and operations unit at our headquarters in Karlstad.

Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that our IT systems are well protected against various types of threats, cyberattacks, and attempts at data breaches.

Your Responsibilities

The work is varied and includes, among other things:

• Manage the authority's IT systems and associated infrastructure.
• Be responsible for the operation, management, and maintenance of the authority's IT security solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot the authority's networks and IT platforms.
• Perform administration within the IT security area.

Your Qualifications

You have a high school education focused on IT security and/or technology, or equivalent work experience that the employer considers comparable. You also need:

• Experience in IT roles, such as IT technician, systems technician, or network technician.
• Good knowledge of IT security in server and client environments, network communication, and network security.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Current certifications in the field of IT security.
• Several years of experience in roles related to IT security.
• Experience with IT security applications in Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience with automation using scripts or similar solutions.
• Worked with log management or vulnerability scanning.

In the role of IT technician, you need to be able to take initiative, start activities, and drive them forward towards set goals. You take responsibility for your tasks and structure your work, planning and organizing effectively. Furthermore, you have the ability to see the big picture and can therefore take into account a broader perspective. You communicate clearly with different types of people, thereby contributing to good collaboration.

About the Employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Due to the nature of the business, you cannot work from home, but we hope this can instead contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure.
