Systems Specialist at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency is the leading, directing, and coordinating authority in civil defense. We ensure that society is prepared for crises, heightened readiness, and war.

The unit for essential communication services is now seeking a systems specialist. You will be part of an exciting journey and work with both our existing systems Rakel, SGSI, WIS, and the upcoming generation of secure communication systems SWEN (Swedish emergency network).
Your Responsibilities and Tasks
As a systems specialist at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, you will primarily work with the development and planning of our service deliveries within Rakel, SGSI, WIS, and next-generation essential communication services SWEN.
Your tasks include, among others:
- responsibility for network design, security architecture, and integration of services with high demands on security, availability, and robustness.
- in dialogue with colleagues at the agency and other stakeholders, contribute to creating the digital infrastructure required to meet communication needs within future civil defense.
- participate in work related to signal protection issues and signal protection systems.
Your Skills and Competencies
We are looking for someone who has:
- relevant higher education or equivalent experience that we consider comparable.
- several years of professional experience as a systems specialist and network design work.
- experience in building services with high availability and robustness.
- experience in designing and managing IP networks.
- good knowledge of firewall solutions and log and traffic analysis.
- good ability to speak and write in both Swedish and English.
It is advantageous if you have:
- experience working with signal protection systems.
- experience in switching and routing.
- experience with databases.
- experience with the Linux operating system.

About the Employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.
Your place of employment will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel may be required in the position.
You will be part of an operations organization, and the work may eventually involve being on call. The agency has an obligation to fulfill on-call duties if necessary, with a maximum of seven days within a seven-week period.
The majority of our positions require placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are assigned to military service.
About Us
The section for IT infrastructure and network monitoring is responsible for operations and network monitoring (NOC) for the operational delivery of services and systems in production. Furthermore, it includes administration and management of technical infrastructure for the operation, including testing, radio planning, and operational IT security, as well as tasks for troubleshooting and incident management for second and third line support for the unit's service deliveries.
