At the diocesan office, we work for the best of the parishes.
We create purposeful and sustainable conditions to be a church today, while also preparing for the church we want to see in the future.
We have about 50 employees. The position of board secretary is located in the Support and Service unit, which consists of 12 employees in the areas of administration, registration, janitorial services, and communication. The unit provides operational support and service to two units with tasks related to promotion and supervision of the diocese's parishes and pastorates, as well as partially to a unit that manages forests, land, and funds. The unit also conducts its own promotional work within communication as well as diary and archive. Additionally, the unit is responsible for all meeting management regarding the diocese's elected representatives' meetings.
As a board secretary
As a board secretary, you will be responsible for the administration of the diocesan board and diocesan assembly. The assignment encompasses the entire cycle from case preparation and meetings to minutes, dispatch, and follow-up with a focus on quality, structure, and legal certainty.
Job Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Managing case handling and documentation
- Planning, administering, and following up on meetings
- Preparing invitations, agendas, and minutes
- Collaborating with the chairperson, members, managers, and case handlers
- Registering and managing public documents
- Contributing to the development of common routines and working methods
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their task and is stable as a person. You are confident, loyal, and service-oriented. You have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements
To be considered for the position, you must also have:
- Relevant education equivalent to at least high school level, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- Experience in similar qualified administrative work
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- Driver's license B
- Very good knowledge of the Office suite and be comfortable working with document templates, headings, and formatting
Meritorious:
- Experience in administrative work within public administration
- Experience as a committee or board secretary within the Church of Sweden, municipality, or region.
- Good understanding of the Church of Sweden's organization, political structure, and decision-making levels
- Experience in digital case and document management. At the diocesan office, we work in Public 360.

Working hours/place of employment
The position is a permanent full-time employment located at the diocesan office in Härnösand. The main working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of remote work up to two days a week. Local collective agreement on annual working hours with a time bank and leave on bridge days and half-day before public holidays. Evening and weekend work may occur. Travel for work may occur, sometimes requiring overnight stays. Start of employment according to agreement.
