Östra Ängsskolan is looking for a subject area educator
Östra Ängsskolan is a centrally located adapted primary school in the town of Klippan. The school is within walking distance to both train and bus stations, making it easy to commute here.
We are a newly renovated F–9 school with approximately 60 students studying both subjects and subject areas. Our learning environments are modern, well thought out, and designed to meet students with intellectual disabilities and varying support needs.
At Östra Ängsskolan, we work with a high staff density and a strong focus on relationships, clear structure, and safety. We use clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal responses, and various forms of AAC as natural parts of our teaching.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As an educator with a focus on subject area, you have overall responsibility for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching within the subject area based on Lgr 22 and the adapted primary school's governing documents. You create clear, predictable, and structured learning environments and work daily with AAC and other support structures to provide students with the best possible conditions for communication, understanding, and development.
In this role, you lead the work team in the group and work closely with teaching assistants in daily pedagogical work. Together with student health, you conduct assessments, make adjustments, and find student-centered solutions that meet each student's needs. You guide and support teaching assistants in methods, responses, and pedagogical strategies, and you are responsible for documentation, assessment, and development plans. The work also involves regular and secure collaboration with guardians.
You are an active part of the school's development work and contribute to shaping and further developing our common practices within adapted primary school.
QUALIFICATIONS
You are a licensed preschool teacher with additional training as a special educator focusing on intellectual disabilities (ID) or a licensed preschool teacher intending to train as a special educator for ID.
Meritorious:
- Experience working in an adapted primary school
- Good knowledge of: clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal responses, AAC, structural support, schedules, visual support
- Experience working with students with ID and/or complex needs
- Experience leading work teams and collaborating across professions
