We are looking for an experienced and skilled Financial Controller for the aid organization We Effect in Stockholm.
This position will be part of the global finance and compliance team. The employment is a permanent position with a six-month probation period.
We Effect is an aid organization founded by the Swedish cooperative movement in 1958 to support the development of democratic organizations and societies.
We Effect primarily collaborates with member-based organizations consisting of women and men living in poverty who together fight for their rights and living conditions. We Effect aims to empower people living in poverty so that they have greater influence over their own lives and their communities.
We Effect operates in approximately 19 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. Through our offices, we collaborate with local civil society organizations, farmers' organizations, cooperative unions, and other democratic organizations.
Main Responsibilities
Support and quality assurance to country offices in grant applications, including quality assurance of budgets.
Support and quality assurance of financial reporting to donors, monitoring outcomes compared to budgets, and following up on grant audits.
Quality assurance of assignment letters, support and quality assurance of audits of country offices.
Follow up on audit results at each country office.
Conduct internal controls of country offices and spot checks of compliance according to the annually approved plan.

Support to country offices in incident management. Participate in incident follow-ups. Conduct anti-corruption training.
Follow up on risk management at country offices.
Support and quality assurance of country office budgets and forecasts.
Support and quality assurance of assignment descriptions in connection with procurements and quality assurance of contracts.
Who are you?
We believe you have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance and at least 4–6 years of relevant work experience.
We also believe you have:
• Excellent communication and social skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee and manage various tasks, projects, and activities simultaneously.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to keep track of deadlines both internally and externally.
• High integrity and commitment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members in different locations.
• Experience working in non-profit organizations and/or international environments.
• Experience working with grant-funded activities, preferably with donors such as Sida and the EU.
• Knowledge of finance/administrative software and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to work with large data sets and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
• Implement process improvements and automation.
• Effective and fluent communication in English.
It is an advantage if you have:
• Knowledge of and experience working in Xledger.
• Oral and written communication skills in Spanish or other languages where we have country offices.
