Within the Primary Care Center of Östergötland, there are 33 region-operated health centers, three emergency centers, the child health care unit, and a general medicine training center.

The Ekholmen Health Center is responsible for a population of approximately 22,000 registered patients, in an area that is expanding with both urban and rural environments. For patients, the health center should be the obvious first choice when needing contact with healthcare.

Our mission is broad and comprehensive, offering care to everyone throughout their lives; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.

Job Description

Being a district nurse/children's nurse with us at the BVC Ekholmen Health Center is a varied and diverse job where the child's health is the focus. With us, you will be offered a positive work environment with engaged colleagues who want to share your ideas and experiences. At the BVC, you will work alongside five other BVC nurses. The work involves standard child health care tasks such as parental support, telephone counseling, reception, group activities, and home visits. The working degree at BVC is 75%, and the position can be extended with 25% telephone counseling by agreement.

The child health center is also part of a family center located in the same premises as the BVC. Together with educators in the open operations and social workers, we have a close collaboration for children and parents for health-promoting, preventive, and supportive purposes. We use Barnsäkert, a systematic approach to identify and ask questions about various risk factors.

To thrive in the role, we believe it is important that you appreciate working independently as well as collaborating with colleagues. The work consists of independently organizing your reception according to the child health care program, while you and your colleagues support each other and work together to develop the operations forward.

Work Group

The health center has about 70 employees, where much experience and competence are shared among each other.

About You

You are a licensed specialist nurse in the relevant field. Previous experience working in a BVC is an advantage.

As you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other operations, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. You also need to be able to handle various IT systems to perform daily care work.

You are a positive person, structured, have an easy time collaborating with others, and are confident in your role as a nurse. To thrive and fit in with us, your personal qualities are important. We work closely together and need to have good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in our daily work.
