Your tasks

As a school nurse, you work preventively and health-promoting based on Linköping Municipality's basic program for student health, which includes health visits, open reception, and administering vaccinations.

In your role as a school nurse, you work together with the school's student health team to support students in achieving their academic goals. You also collaborate with other staff, guardians, and other organizations and authorities outside the school. You will also receive supervision on cases once a month from a psychologist. This is to create a safe school environment that promotes health, learning, and security. You document in the journal system Prorenata.

As a newly employed school nurse, you will have the opportunity to participate in an introductory program. You will receive ongoing competence and method development through the central medical service of student health. You will also be part of a network with other school nurses in the area, which provides excellent opportunities to exchange experiences and develop the profession. Your workplace

The school health service in Linköping Municipality is part of Student Health (the medical service). Within primary schools, about 40 school nurses work with a student population of over 16,000 students distributed across two different school areas.

Organizationally, as a school nurse, you belong to the primary school where you have the most working hours. The responsible manager is the principal of that school.

We are now looking for a school nurse to be placed at Ånestadsskolan 7-9 and the Resource Schools 1-9. Ånestadsskolan 7-9 has about 290 students and the Resource Schools about 60 students. The position is a permanent employment with a workload of 50% at Ånestadsskolan 7-9 and 30% at the Resource Schools.

You who are applying

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist training as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or school nurse. We prefer that you have previous experience working as a school nurse or have other experience in health-promoting work with children and adolescents. You have knowledge of preventive and promoting student health work. You have good skills in spoken and written Swedish, as you will be writing journals and collaborating with various professionals.

As a school nurse with us, you have an independent role that requires you to plan and organize your work well. You have a professional approach, are good at meeting children and adolescents where they are, and are curious about people with different cultural backgrounds. You will collaborate with other staff, the student health team, school doctors, etc., which requires you to thrive in a role where a non-prestigious collaboration is central.
