Consultant Psychiatrist for Psychiatric Department 30 at Nacka Hospital

Stockholm County Council's healthcare area, SLSO, is forming a new service - Psychosis Care Stockholm, where all outpatient clinics and inpatient wards for patients with psychotic disorders will be gathered under the new service.

Do you want to work in an organization that invests long-term in quality, evidence, and equitable care for people with psychotic disorders? We are now looking for a consultant psychiatrist for Psychiatric Department 30 at Nacka Hospital, which will be part of the new joint service Psychosis Care Stockholm from February 2026.

About Psychosis Care Stockholm

Psychosis Care Stockholm is a new integrated service within Stockholm County Council (SLSO), where psychosis care is gathered under a common leadership. By consolidating resources and expertise, better conditions are created for evidence-based, person-centered, and equitable care for people with psychotic disorders.

The service operates in line with national care pathways, the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines, and structured care processes. The goal is to strengthen the entire care chain from acute phases to long-term support and to reduce disparities in care offerings while increasing access to coordinated efforts for patients and their relatives. Patient safety, quality, professional development, and research are central parts of the mission.

About Psychiatric Department 30

Psychiatric Department 30 is an inpatient ward with 16 beds focused on psychotic disorders. The department opened in 2019 and cares for patients with complex and acute psychiatric conditions.

The care is provided by multidisciplinary teams consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, and medical secretaries. The work is based on evidence-based diagnostics and treatment as well as diagnosis-specific care processes.

The department works systematically with person-centered care and has implemented Safewards as an evidence-based approach to prevent threats, violence, and coercive measures. The work is complemented by calming strategies, a Quiet Room, and threat and violence prevention based on the Bergen model.

As a consultant psychiatrist, you have overall medical responsibility for care and treatment in the department. You conduct psychiatric assessments and investigations, are responsible for treatment decisions, and contribute to continuity and medical quality in care.

You work closely with other professionals within the department, outpatient care, relatives, and other care providers. You are expected to actively contribute to the development of the service within the framework of Psychosis Care Stockholm. Documentation is done in the Take Care journal system.
