Summer Job as a Substitute at Västergården

At Bräcke diakoni, we are now looking for summer substitutes for Västergården, a care and nursing home where you help create joy, security, and community for younger people with cognitive illness. We are a non-profit organization working with care, responsibility, and sustainability. With us, you will have a summer job where you make a difference every day.

Your Job This Summer

As a summer substitute at Västergården, you will meet individuals with cognitive illness, in a role where the relationship is just as important as the care. Together with colleagues, you contribute to a safe and social everyday life, tailored to each person's circumstances. You will work as needed, from occasional shifts in the spring to longer, scheduled periods during the summer. Your job may involve:

• supporting routines and daily activities,
• participating in social activities such as conversations, games, and movement,
• documenting and performing medication delegation - after training and supervision by a nurse,
• collaborating with colleagues and other professionals around the residents.

Who We Are Looking For

You are over 18 years old and want to work extra alongside your studies or other jobs. Perhaps you are studying to become a nursing assistant or nurse – or you already have experience. At Västergården, we need someone who has a natural care for people, is calm and structured in their work approach, responsive to needs, and enjoys collaboration and communication.

Your Qualifications

• Experience in care and nursing - from work or internships.
• Good Swedish in speech and writing and basic computer skills.
• Care and nursing education and experience working with individuals with cognitive illness is a merit, but not a requirement.

Västergården is a residence for individuals under 65 years old with cognitive illness. Here, we work in teams focusing on the healthy aspects and each person's abilities, resources, and interests. With structure, community, and meaningful activities, we create an everyday life where residents can continue to live an active life based on their circumstances. We call it our KAN-list.
