The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

The Umeå area includes the closed prison Umeå, the open prison Sörbyn, and the remand center Umeå. We are undergoing extensive capacity increases, and a lot is happening in the area in terms of renovations and new constructions. The largest professional group is prison officers, but we also have healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc. At the Sörbyn prison, inmates are engaged in labor market training, learning centers, various treatment programs, or work in the kitchen, carpentry, plant cultivation, textiles, etc. Sörbyn is an agricultural prison with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. At Umeå prison, inmates are engaged in wood/industry, kitchen, learning centers, and treatment programs. The prison and remand center Umeå are about a 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, and Sörbyn is easiest to reach by car. Staff parking is available at all units.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

To succeed in the role of administrator, it is important to have an organized work approach, a high sense of responsibility, and the ability to work towards goals and tight deadlines. You plan and execute your work efficiently, even under high workloads or temporary tasks. During quieter periods, you see what needs to be done and take the initiative for other tasks. You always work efficiently while being quality-conscious.

We are now looking for an administrator with a focus on finance and client administration. Examples of tasks included in the role are managing tasks in the form of client and operational administration, being responsible for the registration and handling of client cases, managing client files and diaries, calculating sentences, etc. The work also includes tasks within finance, such as monthly reconciliations and annual accounts. You handle clients' wages, benefits, and personal funds. Internal accounting, monitoring, and invoice management are also part of your role, in addition to managing orders for the prison's kiosk. Some client-facing work is also involved.

In this position, it is important to maintain good legal security. You do this by collaborating with contacts both within the authority and with external partners in the justice chain.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education in the form of a diploma or high school degree
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• Good computer skills

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience in administrative work from municipal or state operations
• Experience in finance and invoice management
• Experience in administrative work from the prison service
• Experience in calculating sentences
• Experience in accounting
• Experience in archive management and diary keeping
• Education in administration and finance
