About the Job

As a bailiff inspector, you primarily work with investigating assets and making decisions on appropriate enforcement measures. You have an impartial role, helping those who want to get paid and providing support and advice to those who need to pay.

You start your employment as a trainee, and after completing your training and internship, you will receive the title of bailiff inspector. The training lasts about a year and includes subjects such as law, communication, and conversation techniques.

The tasks vary in scope and complexity. The cases you handle require speed and efficiency while maintaining quality. Using laws and regulations, you assess the information and make decisions. You work both in and outside the office, where you investigate debtors' assets and carry out evictions.

Everyone working at the Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities of suspected crimes. As a bailiff inspector, you may discover various types of criminal activity while out on assignments and participating in collaborative efforts with other authorities. This can result in your contribution to stopping money laundering and preventing organized crime.

The position is located at our new, fresh office in central Umeå, where we moved in during 2025.

About You

Your Qualifications:

• Higher education with at least 180 credits (120 points according to the old system) in law, economics, social sciences, or another equivalent higher education, or 2 years of current employment as a case officer in the enforcement section at the Enforcement Authority, demonstrating a very good ability to independently analyze and manage complex tasks.
• Driver's license for a car with manual transmission.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. You will be employed as a bailiff inspector trainee. The Enforcement Authority offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer.

Working in the government means adhering to the state value framework. There are also specific requirements for judgment, security awareness, and compliance with applicable laws. We ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and shortcomings in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions are also posed to references. We also collect information about debts registered with the Enforcement Authority, bankruptcy, and business bans. Any information obtained will be considered in the overall assessment of your suitability for the position.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security clearance with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision is made. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
