JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone who wants to enable individuals with disabilities to have a meaningful leisure time! Are you a reliable and flexible person who enjoys varied and stimulating tasks and likes to be active in your work? Then we are looking for you as a companion for our team within Disability Care.

Companion services are designed to enable individuals to participate in cultural and recreational activities outside the home and to promote the individual's social life. The work may involve accompanying individuals to swim, riding lessons, or going to ice hockey. The position also includes providing respite care at home, which means staying at home with a person with a disability so that family members can have time for their own activities and recovery. The work may include some personal care and delegation of medication.

We work based on individually set implementation plans that you will help develop in collaboration with the individual/family.

You will meet people who need your commitment to feel good. Therefore, you have a good ability to meet individuals where they are, build relationships, and vary your working methods according to needs. The position involves working with adults, teenagers, and children.

As a companion with us, you will be part of a workgroup and will be located at Ljungadalsgatan 2A in Växjö. You will have access to the means of transport required for the assignment. The foundation is that you will work afternoons/evenings and weekends, and the schedule may change as needed, for example during school breaks and in the summer.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position, you must have at least a high school education. It is advantageous if you have a recognized education from the health and care program, child and leisure program, nursing education with additional training, leisure leader education, or childcare education with at least two years of training. Personal suitability is highly valued.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge of different levels of ability, neuropsychiatric disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and alternative communication.

You must be able to swim, ride a bike, have no pet allergies, enjoy being around animals, and hold a B driver's license.

The work requires that you are responsible, engaged, and have good collaboration skills. Solution-focused with a calm and secure working method, and easy to connect with other people. Some computer skills are needed as documentation is part of the job, as you will be responsible for creating implementation plans and social journals.
