Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 28,030 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential areas close to the sea, and good communication opportunities. The municipality has a well-developed cultural and association life as well as good conditions for outdoor activities and recreation. Wholeness, openness, participation, and transparency are the municipality's guiding principles.
The municipality's vision is to reach 35,000 inhabitants by 2035. Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region's Municipal Association, which is a forum for cooperation and exchange of experiences, as well as several other inter-municipal collaborations.
We are organized into an administration with four sectors. The support functions sector includes, among other things, municipality-wide specialists, communication, administration and digitization, property, and service. The mission of the support functions is to coordinate overarching processes and facilitate the municipality's sectors to focus on their operations.
The role of communicator is organized within the Communication Team, which is part of the Communication and Coordination Function with 15 employees. The Communication Team consists of a communications manager, communicators, and a web manager.
The Communication and Coordination Function is responsible, in addition to communication work, for the municipality's safety and crime prevention work, public health, and overarching climate and environmental issues. Here, there is specialist competence that contributes to a sustainable society.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a communicator, you will work to plan, implement, and develop the municipality's communication, both strategically and operationally. The role involves close collaboration with managers and operations where you act as an advisor, sounding board, and support in formulating clear and target group-adapted messages. Communication efforts are directed both internally within the organization and externally towards residents, businesses, and the public.
Your assignment includes helping operations strengthen their communication to create participation, transparency, and understanding of the municipality's work. You will produce content for the municipality's various channels, such as the intranet, website, and social media. The work also includes layout, photography, and simple film production to create visual material that supports communication.
The position is a temporary assignment with varied tasks where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and strengthening of the municipality's internal and external communication.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have a university degree in media and communication studies or journalism, or equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. We prefer that you have experience in operational and strategic communication work. We want you to be a person who takes initiative, is driven, and understands what it means to work as a communicator in a politically governed organization.
You are a very good writer with the ability to quickly describe complex issues in an easily understandable way, have a good sense of language, and we will be curious to see this. You have experience in web publishing and good proficiency in the Adobe suite (primarily Premiere, InDesign, and Express).
As a person, you are innovative, curious, meticulous, and willing to try new things. You have the ability to work independently while easily creating good relationships. You are collaborative and are happy to share your knowledge and experiences with your colleagues. You thrive in a central role in a whole where you contribute with drive and commitment.
