About us
You will become part of our Energy Systems department within the Operations & Energy Systems unit, which is part of the initiative we call PROACTIVE.ON – an initiative to strengthen our organization with a clear responsibility for the entire energy system. With the ongoing energy transition and powerful electrification, as well as due to technological development and digitalization, the need for more solutions to meet demand from both a capacity and connection perspective is emerging. Here at Energy Systems, we play an important and decisive role!
We are now looking for you who want to step into the role of Group Manager for System Planning, where you will be at the center of the energy transition while driving the development of future energy systems!
Your role
As Group Manager for System Planning, you will lead a team that, through analysis and new technology, is responsible for ensuring the stability of the electricity grid, both in the short and slightly longer term. The group you lead has an important mission - to guide how we design our electricity system to be ready for all challenges in the constantly changing energy landscape. Together with experts from other departments, your group is responsible for designing and implementing policies and guidelines for grid stability and preparedness. The group conducts analyses of the electricity system's parameters, develops new technical solutions, and manages technical requirements for new connections to the grid.
In your role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a strategic plan to develop the business in a data-driven and automated way while supporting, developing, and leading your employees in their daily work. You have a central role in the strategic electricity system responsibility and collaborate closely with the operations organization and regional grid business to make a real difference while being part of the department's management team.
The position is a temporary role until January 2027.
About you
To succeed and thrive in this role, we are looking for someone with experience in the energy sector and knowledge of the electricity grid's structure. Areas of interest include experience in operations, electricity grid development, or IT/systems related to the electricity grid, and you are likely also an educated engineer in the field. We see that you have a strong interest in leading and coaching others, and that you are motivated to grow and develop further in a leadership role, even if you do not necessarily have previous experience as a manager.
For us, it is important what you can contribute through your leadership and personal qualities. We see you as a leader with the ability to create structure and clarity for your team, while also giving your employees the space to take significant responsibility and grow in their roles. You have a natural curiosity and a genuine interest in understanding both people and technology, and you know how to drive the work forward with the right balance between details and the big picture. We are looking for someone who sees development opportunities in every challenge and has the ability to inspire your team to think innovatively and take steps forward together. You are someone who appreciates and values building on successful collaborations and sees the strength in bringing your team along in that.
What is it like with us?
Your immediate manager, Erica Niemi, looks forward to welcoming you to the management team and is proud that we have an open climate with an inclusive culture where we as a group always support each other. Erica is driven by forward-thinking and is keen to involve everyone on the journey to where we are going. Together, we have an important mission to enable a sustainable energy system while strengthening E.ON's position at the forefront of the energy transition!
Warm welcome to apply and join us on the path to a sustainable society! The application deadline is February 16th.
The position is security classified, which means that a security review will be conducted before employment.
