Summer Job: Data Analysis and Machine Learning in the Power Grid
Welcome to E.ON – and become part of the energy transition. In collaboration with our customers and partners, we ensure that electricity is used smarter and more sustainably. As a summer intern with us, you will have the opportunity to work with real data, test new ideas, and contribute to the development of the future power grid – in a safe and inclusive environment where learning and collaboration are in focus.
Make a difference this summer – grow with us!
About the Team & Role
You will work alongside colleagues in our Data Analytics team, which uses data analysis and AI to strengthen the Swedish power grid operations. The team collaborates closely with specialists in power systems and operations to create smarter forecasts and better decision-making support.
During the summer, you will contribute to developing and evaluating forecasting models using modern machine learning methods and new research findings. The role offers an educational environment focused on real problems, experimentation, and collaboration between technology and operations.
Your main responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with existing forecasting processes and codebase in Python
- Explore and evaluate modern models for time series analysis
- Implement at least one new model on real data
- Generate forecasts and compare results with existing models (benchmarking)
In this role, you will gain practical experience in advanced data analysis and machine learning, as well as a deeper understanding of how research can be applied in real operations.
About You
We believe you are curious, analytical, and motivated to use data for societal benefit. You don’t need to know everything from the start – the most important thing is that you want to learn and contribute.
We would like you to:
- Be studying at a university in a quantitative field, such as engineering, natural sciences, statistics, or economics
- Have good knowledge of Python
- Be interested in time series analysis and machine learning
- Enjoy working both independently and collaboratively
- Communicate in Swedish and/or English
What You Get with Us
At E.ON, you get more than just a summer job. You will have the opportunity to work with real energy data, develop your technical skills, and be part of an engaged team where different perspectives and experiences are valued. You will receive a safe introduction, guidance, and a work environment where you can grow both professionally and personally.
