Systems Engineer in IT Security

About the Organization

The Systems Unit at FMTIS operates at several locations across the country, responsible for technical change management during renovations in the Armed Forces' telecommunications network and management of the Armed Forces' IT infrastructure. In the Infrastructure Department where the position is located, we manage cross-system IT infrastructure that is crucial for the Armed Forces' operations. Our task includes working with change management and further development in the areas of local networks, data center solutions, IT security, and client and server solutions. The department's employees also act as technical specialists in these areas. We offer a professional environment where you have opportunities to develop both personally and professionally. Main Responsibilities

The team's main task is to provide systems that protect the Armed Forces against various forms of advanced IT attacks. The tasks include everything from system development, procurement, and adaptation of both hardware and software components. The work involves designing and developing entirely new systems, as well as managing and maintaining existing systems.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Academic education in IT or work experience deemed equivalent by the employer in combination with relevant work experience
  • Practical experience working with firewalls, switches, and load balancers
  • Ability to demonstrate good knowledge of secure data communication
  • Experience in programming with languages such as C++, Java, or Python
  • Familiarity with working in Linux-based environments
  • Experience with version control using Git
  • Good ability to express oneself in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Driving license B (manual)

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with scripting and automation
  • Experience in installation and configuration of servers
  • Experience with network infrastructure with requirements for availability and IT security
  • Experience with various security products for network monitoring

Other Information

Employment type: permanent. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

Travel may occur in the position.
