JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of decision support in the probation service area of Östergötland is an exciting and central function that works strategically, operationally, and administratively with issues primarily related to the client process. The probation service area of Östergötland has offices in Linköping, Norrköping, and Västervik. We are now looking for a decision support for the probation service in Västervik, where the assignment includes working with a team that handles all client processes within probation.
As decision support, you will assist the operations in the probation service area of Östergötland and work closely with the management functions of the operations and collaborate with staff who have an overarching mission for the area, such as process support, security administrators, and intelligence operators.
In the role of decision support, you will assist the prison inspector, probation inspector, and other employees in the work with client decisions/client processes. The decision supports should help the operations ensure that we are working correctly in the client processes and following laws, regulations, and manuals. The assignment involves making decisions in individual client cases based on delegation, ensuring the quality of decisions in relation to laws, regulations, and manuals in dialogue with colleagues, as well as ensuring the quality of language and other formalities. The work includes documenting the probation service's decision meetings and supporting employees in developing decisions and decision bases, as well as providing guidance in client cases. The assignment includes holding the probation service's collegium and actively participating in legal forums and practice forums. The role also includes identifying needs and proposing structures for how the work can be conducted in the best way in dialogue with the manager and other employees, as well as being proactive in implementing this. You will have close cooperation with other decision supports in the area, and you will have the opportunity to shape the role together.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is structured, has analytical skills, and can express themselves very well in both speech and writing. You need to be flexible, able to plan and prioritize your work, and drive processes forward. Furthermore, you should work well with others, be attentive, listen, and communicate clearly to ensure that messages are conveyed and expectations are clear for all parties involved. You should also have a coaching approach, a well-developed pedagogical ability, and high integrity. It is important to us that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in people's will and ability to develop. You should also be aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A bachelor's degree in law, behavioral science, or political science, or other education complemented with relevant experience for the position
- Current experience from the probation service
- Experience in case handling and administrative authority
- Good administrative law knowledge
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in mentoring or coaching tasks
- Experience working as a probation inspector recently
- Experience in supervision case handling, RBM-B, VSP, and PU
- Experience in handling community service, intensive supervision, and special release measures
- Experience in youth supervision
- Good understanding of current legislative changes and the ability to implement and disseminate this knowledge within probation
- Very good communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in internal and external collaboration
