The Department of Individual and Family Services is responsible for interventions according to SoL and LSS within individual and family care as well as care for persons with disabilities. Municipal citizens in need of social services can receive advice, support, and assistance, often after individual assessment as part of our authority's exercise. We aim for the interventions we provide to lead to independence.

The operations focus on interventions for children, youth, and their parents, substance abuse issues, domestic violence, persons with disabilities who need support in their daily lives, individuals in need of financial assistance, labor market measures, rehabilitation, and integration.

IFO Vuxen works with the core tasks of financial assistance, harmful use and dependence, domestic violence, honor-related violence and oppression, support for relatives, and integration, and investigates and grants interventions within these areas. IFO Vuxen is also responsible for the social services' eviction prevention work in collaboration with IFO's Housing Social Team to combat homelessness in the municipality.

During 2025, IFO Vuxen has participated in extensive development work to organize and equip the operations to best meet individuals' needs and based on the introduction of the new social services act. The implementation of the new SoL will continue in the coming years along with the introduction of the comorbidity investigation and activity requirement, which creates good conditions for employees to influence the design of the work.

Since the turn of the year 2024/2025, IFO Vuxen has been divided into two workgroups: Reception/Investigation Group and Intervention Group, the position as a temporary social worker will be placed in the Reception/Investigation Group due to internal job changes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker in the Reception/Investigation Group, you will work with the reception and investigation of new applications/reports concerning adults. Initially, your main focus will be on financial assistance with tasks involving authority exercise to investigate the right to, and process financial assistance. The basic investigation aims to map the individual's entire life situation to clarify what abilities and possible difficulties the individual has to move towards self-sufficiency. In your role, you will collaborate with internal and external actors to be able to offer the right support early on. When the basic investigation is completed and assistance is granted, the case will be handed over to the intervention group with ongoing collaboration for a secure case handover.

As a social worker in reception/investigation, you will also staff the IFO Vuxen reception phone, which may involve tasks such as advice, referral, and establishing reports/applications. As support in your work, you will receive help from your colleagues as well as a senior social worker and unit manager through regular supervision, both in groups and individually. When you join us as a new employee, we offer a comprehensive introductory program to give you the opportunity to be introduced to the professional role and as a new employee in Nybro Municipality. During your introduction, you will also receive regular individual supervision from a senior social worker and manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have experience in authority exercise within financial assistance and want to continue developing in the field; you are open to eventually broadening your competence in one of the other core tasks on the adult side. You have good collaboration and communication skills, can express yourself well in speech and writing, are responsible, and can work independently and with support from supervision. You work efficiently and structured, can balance different demands, and remain calm in difficult situations. You distinguish between issues and people and can make well-founded decisions under pressure. You enjoy discussing more challenging cases in a group for increased consensus in assessments and decisions and are happy to contribute your expertise to the group for increased learning. You enjoy working in an organization in development and change. Personal suitability is of great importance.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.
