Do you want to help create a meaningful, safe, and inclusive leisure time for young people?

We are looking for youth leaders/leisure leaders (part-time/on-call) for our youth center activities – an operation consisting of three fixed youth centers and a mobile service.

We work in close collaboration with the municipality's secondary schools. During the day, we are present where we are responsible for the student cafeteria and break activities, and in the evenings, we run an open youth center and group activities. We also collaborate broadly with other actors both within and outside the municipality.

As a youth leader/leisure leader, you will be an important part of the municipality's overall work for children and youth – focusing on youth participation, youth democracy, and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of youth leader/leisure leader, you will work closely with the target group and contribute to creating a relevant, safe, and inspiring operation. You will substitute for regular staff during their absence and work according to a fixed schedule during the day, evenings, and Saturdays.

Your tasks may include:

• meeting young people in open activities and creating a safe and welcoming environment
• planning and implementing activities based on young people's interests and needs
• supporting and encouraging young people's own ideas and initiatives
• being responsible for the student cafeteria and contributing to a positive break activity at the secondary school
• leading or participating in group activities and initiatives promoting safety and participation
• collaborating with schools, colleagues, and other internal/external actors

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is passionate about youth development and wants to contribute to a safe leisure time and a meaningful everyday life for young people in Oskarshamn. Requirements include completed upper secondary education and previous experience working with youth. It is an advantage if you have a Leisure Leader education or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
