The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS LVM-home Hessleby, located in beautiful forest surroundings just outside Mariannelund, accommodates men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We have special expertise in receiving clients with mental health issues or outwardly aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure that our clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
  • Driver's license B
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

Meritorious:

  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer
  • Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., case officer at the detention center
  • Education in health and social care
  • Experience working with our target group in substance abuse care

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to establish good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed temporary staff for more than four weeks will receive a bonus.
