Family Unit, Individual and Family Care

The Family Unit is now looking for a field worker for a temporary position. The field workers are part of a team of 11 employees who provide counseling, training, and outreach activities within the area of social services legislation.

Your Responsibilities

As a field worker, you will work with a varied range of tasks. You will engage in outreach and supportive work in public environments and with other organizations where children and youth spend time (youth centers, schools, community activities, etc.). You will participate in collaboration with the police, schools, leisure activities, civil society, and community organizations. As a field worker, you will also actively disseminate knowledge and provide training to, for example, school classes, parents, or other groups, including digitally via social media.

As a field worker, you will also have a clear role towards civil society, community activities, and other societal actors where you collaborate, interact, and represent social services. A fundamental task is to identify children and youth who may be at risk and to motivate, support, and guide them to the right intervention or service. As a field worker, you have a duty to report according to Chapter 14, Section 1 of the Social Services Act.

The Family Unit's field activities are part of the belief in early advisory, supportive, and educational interventions based on interaction, relationships, and engagement. Your role will be to build trusting relationships with children, youth, parents, civil society, and collaboration partners. The Family Unit's mission is to work with all residents of the municipality, and field workers should be available in all areas of the municipality.

The position involves work during evenings and weekends according to a schedule with approximately two to three evening shifts per week. The position includes supervision from coordinators and unit managers, as well as several colleagues with other responsibilities.

Your Qualifications

You should be a qualified social worker or hold another relevant higher education degree that, in conjunction with extensive professional experience, is deemed equivalent by the employer.

It is an advantage if you have training and experience in ANDTS (alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco, and gambling), mental health, crime, young people's relationships and sexuality, social exclusion, etc.

You need to have experience in social work with children, youth, parents, and/or families. Knowledge and understanding of the Social Services Act and the role of social services in society. A driver's license for both manual and automatic transmission is required.
