We are now looking for support staff for two vacant positions in our group home Kastanjen in Arby, about twenty kilometers south of Kalmar. The positions are for a temporary contract of approximately 85 percent starting at the end of March and a permanent position of approximately 75 percent starting immediately, with a six-month probationary period.

Kastanjen is a group home for adults according to LSS 9 § 9 that started in 2009. The operation includes four residents with mental disabilities and offers individually tailored support focusing on safety, participation, and quality of life. The work is based on an anthroposophical view of humanity and a social therapeutic care methodology, which means that employment with us requires openness to these ideas. The residence is located in a calm and nature-close environment in Arby, with proximity to both the local community and urban life in Kalmar.

Our goal is to provide residents with a safe home, a foundation for a meaningful life, and opportunities for personal development. The operation is characterized by participation, independence, and equality within a social therapeutic community, continuity and security in the social environment, as well as care and housing in an aesthetically pleasing environment with a consciously designed daily, weekly, and yearly rhythm.

As a support staff member, you plan and execute your work in accordance with the fundamental principles of LSS, where the individual's right to integrity and self-determination is central. You should work to ensure that residents can live as others do and experience life as meaningful to the greatest extent possible. The work requires you to be empathetic and responsive to the resident's perspective, flexible in your working method based on the individual's daily condition and ability, and reflective to continuously develop in your professional role.

Common tasks include support in personal ADL, household chores, and joint activities, planning and implementing meaningful leisure activities, as well as support in contacts with authorities and healthcare. You are also responsible for social documentation according to applicable legislation and work according to the organization's routines. The operation is staffed around the clock, which means that shifts may be scheduled for day, evening, weekend, and night, and on-call duty at night is included.

It is advantageous if you have training in care, such as nursing assistant or equivalent, social work, or pedagogy. Relevant work experience and personal suitability are also considered.
