Social Worker in Economic Assistance

Within the organization of individual and family care, there is an authority office and a service unit, Advice and Support. The authority office consists of the units Adult & Family Law, Children and Family, Assistance, and Resource, which are responsible for investigation and follow-up in their respective areas. Within the Advice and Support unit, you will find a family reception and an addiction reception that works both with and without assessed needs interventions. Individual and family care operates based on a vision of evidence-based practice, EBP, and aims for all employees to work based on the best available knowledge.

The Adult & Family Law unit consists of four social workers and a unit manager. Within the unit, cases related to economic assistance, incorrect payments and recoveries, estates, addiction issues, housing issues, domestic violence, and family law are handled. Our unit has the ambition to constantly develop and improve. As an employee in a small municipality, you have great opportunities to influence the operations and be involved in its development. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The focus of the position is primarily social change work and handling of economic assistance, but may also include handling of estates and incorrect payments/recoveries. Vadstena has the advantages of a small municipality, allowing you as a social worker to have many varied tasks within your area. Social change work with the current target group means working motivationally with the individual, supporting the individual to find the quickest way to self-sufficiency, and mapping their needs to match with appropriate interventions. You are responsible for investigating, assessing, and making decisions in the area of economic assistance. If necessary, you will have a co-worker. Since we operate in a small municipality, some other adult handling may also occur, such as investigation, assessment, and decision-making in adult matters based on, among other things, addiction issues, housing issues, and domestic violence. In some cases, family law handling may also occur.

You will have access to regular case supervision from the unit manager, both individually and in groups. You will have access to a mentor to help you settle into the work in Vadstena. QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer deems equivalent. You need to have good knowledge of applicable legislation. It is an advantage if you have experience in authority exercise regarding economic assistance, incorrect payments/recoveries, and estate handling. We also value experience in authority exercise in the areas of addiction issues, domestic violence, housing issues, and family law.

As a person, you are curious, engaged, and care about good collaboration and good treatment both in direct client work and in collaboration with other professionals internally and externally. You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability such as degree of independence, collaboration skills, lack of pretentiousness, flexibility, and stress resistance. Experience working with the documentation program VIVA is an advantage.

A driver's license is a requirement.
