The position is located within the Social Administration

The Social Administration is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Administration is responsible for authority exercise, ordering services, and self-management in the areas of individual and family care, LSS, and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to. Do you want to brighten everyday life and improve the quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can make a significant difference and contribute to making Linköping a better place. Welcome to us!

Your tasks

We will be expanding the number of places with us and are looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey forward!

As a support assistant, you will work with individuals who have intellectual disabilities, often in combination with neuropsychiatric diagnoses.

As we welcome two new residences, you will have the opportunity to shape individualized support in close collaboration with the individual, their current residence, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Therefore, you need to thrive in a developing environment where not all working methods are fully established and be an important part of developing these.

The work involves pedagogically meeting each person based on their unique needs and current well-being. In your work, you contribute to structuring everyday life and providing support in daily routines. This includes, among other things, personal care, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Your work has a clear focus on strengthening and utilizing the individual's abilities, which requires the residents' active participation and involvement. To build trust and create a safe relationship, we use methods such as low-arousal responses, AAC (alternative and augmentative communication), and PBS (positive behavior support).

Your workplace

Norrgård is a rural group home in Slaka divided into several operations. The facility currently has four apartments, which will be expanded to six apartments when two users move into new houses on the property. Each resident lives in a separate house, and we also have a dedicated staff area.

Here live individuals with intellectual disabilities and NPF diagnoses that lead to significant support needs. There are both challenging behaviors and personal care involved.

Currently, 16 colleagues work on the property. You are expected to work across boundaries with the new residents and those already living on the property.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend. It may also be relevant to work on-call overnight.

There is limited public transport to the facility, which requires you to have access to your own car to get to work.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who has education from the health and care program, child and leisure program, or other education deemed equivalent. You need to have experience in support, care, and working with individuals who exhibit challenging behavior and use a low-arousal approach.

It is an advantage if you have worked with individuals who have intellectual disabilities and/or NPF diagnoses. We consider it an advantage if you have knowledge of alternative augmentative communication. Additionally, it is advantageous if you have experience with documentation and working based on positive behavior support.

You master the Swedish language in speech and writing and have computer skills as the work involves daily contacts and documentation. For the position, you need to have a B driver's license for manual transmission.

You are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and drive your work forward. You also work well with others and listen and communicate clearly, with the ability to adapt your communication style. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability and can understand others' perspectives and situations.

Welcome with your application!
